New crematory to open in 2025
Kendra Ware and Timothy Martinson of Bryant Funeral Home in Worland recently earned their certified crematory operator (CCO) designation from the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA).
The NFDA Cremation Certification Program™ is a voluntary certification program that helps funeral directors better serve the needs of families that desire cremation.
Nationally, in 2012, 43.2 percent of people who died in the United States were cremated, up from 34.2 percent in 2007. As the cremation rate continues to increase, ensuring that funeral home and crematory staff are properly trained to meet the needs of families that choose cremation is of utmost importance.
NFDA’s Cremation Certification Program provides participants with instruction in best practices for safe, proper and ethical crematory operations and for excellence in service to families that choose cremation. Seminars cover the topics required by state law and are designed to develop understanding, skills and a broad working knowledge of proper operational procedures as well as required and prudent administrative procedures.
Bryant Funeral Home owner Yvonne Bryant said, “We are pleased to announce that Bryant Funeral Home is now fully certified to offer cremation services to our community. This important step allows us to continue providing compassionate, professional care while ensuring the highest standards of safety and respect throughout the cremation process.”
She added, “Currently, we are in the process of building our very own crematory, which is projected to be up and running by the spring of 2025. This expansion will allow us to better serve our community, offering families even more convenience and peace of mind knowing their loved ones are cared for locally.
“At Bryant Funeral Home, we understand the significance of this decision for families, and we are committed to performing every service with the greatest dignity and care. Our certification ensures that we follow all required protocols and legal guidelines, giving families comfort and assurance that their loved one is treated with the respect they deserve. Doing things correctly and with integrity is at the heart of everything we do.”
NFDA is the world’s leading and largest funeral service association, serving 20,000 individual members who represent more than 11,000 funeral homes in the United States and 49 countries around the world.
