Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years
This Friday marks the seventh year of the Trim A Tree celebration at Pioneer Square, which brings together families, businesses and the community in a festive atmosphere.
According to Range Marketing Manager Linda Weeks, the event will run from 5 to 7 p.m. It kicks off with free hot cocoa and cookies at 5 p.m., along with the Worland wrestling team's chili fundraiser.
There will be a welcome at 5:30 p.m., followed by a countdown to light the trees. Children will get a real treat as they watch Santa arrive on a fire truck right after the lights go on, which will be their first chance to meet St. Nick this year and get a picture with him this season.
Throughout the evening, guests will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a curated selection of Christmas music that will be playing in the background.
To keep everyone cozy, Big Horn Heating and Cooling is providing some heated gathering spots, ensuring a comfy and enjoyable experience for all. There will also be a bonfire where everyone can roast marshmallows, adding to the warmth and joy of the celebration, Weeks said.
Thirteen families have joined in the fun in decorating trees at Pioneer Square, with many participating each year to create lasting traditions. This year, the event was opened up to local business community, with 11 businesses stepping up to contribute to the lighting of Pioneer Square.
